Litchfield Equine Wellness is an integrative veterinary practice specializing in chiropractic and acupuncture and is based on Cape Cod in Mashpee, Massachusetts. She is licensed and serves clients throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Eastern New York. Her attention to detail and quality of services allows her to serve her clients with the utmost competence and compassion.
About Dr. Paula D. Monte
Dr. Monte is the principal veterinarian of Litchfield Equine Wellness, and horses have been a mainstay in her life since she was a little girl. She is from Cape Cod, Massachusetts where she grew up showing in the Hunters and Equitation, from Vermont to Wellington.
She graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelors degree in Animal Science. While in undergrad, she competed on the intercollegiate equestrian team. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She then went on to complete an internship at Fairfield Equine Associates in Newtown, CT with a primary interest in sport horse medicine. In addition, she is certified with the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association, after having completed the course at Options for Animals College of Animal Chiropractic. She also completed the equine acupuncture course at the Chi Institute in Florida. In her spare time, Dr. Monte enjoys spending time with her family and their dogs, Tux and Louie. She hopes to have an amateur/owner hunter and start showing again in the near future.
